Magazine Copy

After I had finished drawing and colouring the piece, I scanned it into photoshop where I could adjust the colours so they were closer to the actual magazine.

Once the colours had been adjusted, I used the Dodge Tool to lighten areas, such as the area in front of the window. Although the colours weren't as accurate as I'd have liked, I focused on the process more, rather than getting it completely right.

The final step was to create a pattern for the snow and find a typeface that could be used for the text on the magazine cover. Although my copy didn't turn out exactly the same as the original, it would have been difficult drawing free hand to get it 100% accurate.

Magazine Name Brainstorming

Using my knowledge of the genre "Fashion" and using the research I have done I created lists of words that I could put together to make an interesting title for my Magazine.

Magazine Design Research

In order to gain inspiration and knowledge of what components magazines include and display, I did some research into different genres and target audience. These two things lead to what the cover will show, for example, fashion magazines will include a photo of someone modeling clothes and an art magazine may show equipment or maybe a piece of art work. The cover lines also depend on the target audience and genre.
